MISSION:
To provide trained independent advocates to represent and promote the best interests of abused, neglected, and dependent children in the state court system and to work towards a plan that ensures that these children are in a safe, permanent home.
 
 
            
                                                                  


Guardian ad Litem is simplistically a program that enables children's best interest to be heard in court.

                                                       The Facts
 
Every five minutes a child is abused or neglected in North Carolina.
 
30 children died from child abuse during 2004.
 
Child abuse is the #1 killer of preschool children.
 
One child in three will be sexually abused before age 18.
 
In 2002, more than 30,000 children were reported and confirmed to be victims of abuse and neglect in North Carolina.
 
On the 2003 North Carolina Child Health Report Card, we received an "F" in child abuse and neglect.
 
85% of abused children will grow up to be abusive parents.
